Placement Procedure: The Referral Process
Students are offered placement at Verona School on advice from a regional placement panel. Students experiencing difficulty accessing curriculum outcomes due to high level behaviour support needs and difficulty with emotional regulation may be referred for placement. Applications for placement in a specialist setting are made by a students home school, in collaboration with parents and other key specialists.
We can help you with your enrolment enquiries anytime throughout the year.
Distance education
Distance education is an equity program for students who are geographically isolated or whose individual circumstances prevent them from regularly attending school. Students must meet one of the conditions in the Distance Education Enrolment Procedures to be eligible to access this program as a full-time student.
Distance education schools also provide single subjects for students in Years 9 to 12 to enhance curriculum choice. Please contact us for details.
At Verona School, Stage 6 students are supported to learn through Sydney Distance Education HS. Students are able to choose courses from the extensive list of subject choices provided by Sydney Distance Education HS and work towards an HSC. Students are guided by experienced teachers at Verona School to select subjects appropriate for ability, interest and future direction. Whilst on-site at Verona School students participate in web lessons that are conducted largely online, complete set tasks and learning modules and join in with a range of learning opportunities offered including study days, work placement and practical experiences.
